When you think of modern Californian rock there is one band that springs to mind, The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band members of The Red Hot Chili Peppers are keen surfers and squeeze in the occasionally set when the chance arrives, and of course you must remember Tony Kiedis screen debut in one of the greatest surf movies of all time, Point Break, where he plays a member of a bad ass surf gang. With their close relationship to the Californian surf scene and great rock sound, Billabong have co-designed a pair of signature boardshorts for The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Red Hot Chili Peppers board shorts are also ECO friendly as they are made from recycled polyester and plastic bottles.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers surf shorts have a fixed waistband, a lace tie, and a Velcro fly. The Billabong boardshorts feature horizontal stripes detail, a patch appliqué design, and Billabong and Red Hot Chili Peppers stitched branding. The right leg also features a side pocket with an internal key loop, and a Billabong wax comb.
Like most fixed waist board shorts these are not lined, but they are suitable as swim shorts for swimming in the sea or at the swimming pool.
The blue and black colour palette of the Billabong Peppers boardshorts coupled with bold stripes fading into the Pepper’s signature logo, fit the image of the band perfectly, tying the bands rock & roll attitude with beach surf culture. Add the fact that they are environmentally sound boardshorts and you know they are almost to good to be true.
