Jackets & Base Layers
When you are spending time on the snow slopes, snowboarding or skiing, you should ensure that you have a good base layer of clothing (long underwear) to keep you warm and dry. A technical snow sports base layer is recommended, as this will wick moisture away from skin, keeping you warm and dry. Cotton is not ideal as it does not dry quickly and you will lose body heat when it is wet.
Snow Sports Clothing
A snowboarding and skiing jacket should be waterproof and windproof to keep you warm on the mountainside. Snow sports jackets may be treated with a waterproof layer, or made out of an expensive waterproof material such as Gore-tex. The jacket should also feature good venting and breathability to enable you to cool down when overheating, and to ensure that moisture does not gather inside the jacket. The higher the waterproof and breathability rating, the higher the quality of the jacket.
Winter Jacket Range
At the Shred Head online surf clothing store we sell technical snow sports base layers for ladies and men in varying designs from Rip Curl, Billabong, Quiksilver and Roxy. Shred Head also have a range of technical snowboarding and skiing jackets to keep you warm and dry on the ski slopes, which can also be worn as thermals during the cold UK winter.
