Quiksilver

Aussie surfers Alan Green and John Law founded Quiksilver in 1970, at Torquay, the surf capital of Victoria, Australia. Greenie and Law started Quiksilver by redesigning the surfer's boardshort using a durable, lightweight fabric that dried rapidly, with Velcro and snap closure, and a wide waistband that gave support. They would sell the Quiksilver surf shorts to fellow surfers and surf shops that would stock more than just surfboards and board wax.

Global Surf Brand Enterprise

In 1976 the North Shore surf sensation Jeff Hakman and his business partner Bob Mcknight bought the rights to produce Quiksilver boardshorts and Quiksilver surf clothing in the USA. Jeff and Bob took the innovative surfing shorts to the surf shores of the USA and within a decade were successfully producing Quiksilver boardshorts, swimsuits, T-Shirts and other surf clothing and accessories. Further expansion into ski and snowboarding clothing, wetsuits and the creation of the ladies brand Roxy have also proved to be a huge success.

World Championship Sponsors

The Quiksilver surf life style brand is the largest surf company in the world and has never forgotten its roots, sponsoring board riders from groms to ASP WCT pros. The Quiksilver surfers currently include WCT pros; Dane Reynolds, Fred Patacchia, Jeremy Flores (the youngest surfer to qualify and join the ASP surfing tour), Danny Wills, Troy Brooks, and the eight times surfing world champion Kelly Slater. Quik also funds and organises surfing competitions and other extreme sports events around the globe. The largest of which include the WCT Quiksilver Pro on the Gold Coast in Australia, and the WCT Quiksilver Pro in France.

Future Quik Designs

World famous for its mountain and wave logo and high quality surf wear, Quiksilver T-Shirts, boardshorts, hoodies and surf clothing can be found at the beach, at the bar, or at the music concert for an up and coming band. It has successfully blended the surf lifestyle with fashion and music influences and has set up its own organization to protect the environment and preserve the breaks of the world.
