French surfer Fabrice Valéri and the highly talented artistic director Isabelle Cachot created the board sports brand Oxbow in 1985. Oxbow was located at Mérignac in Bordeaux, approximately 30 miles inland from the French Atlantic's great surfing conditions, and remains in the same region to this day. Fabrice and Isabelle founded Oxbow as a technical and fashionable rider sports brand combining Oxbow's creativity, originality and technical expertise. This technical expertise in board riding sports now includes legends Laird Hamilton, Jason Polakow and Guerlain Chicherit.
