Hurley

In 1980 at Costa Mesa in California, surfer and board shaper Bob Hurley created Hurley Surfboards. The company flourished in the early 80s, and in 1982 Bob Hurley became the licensee and distributor in the USA for the Australian surf brand Billabong. Having worked as the highly successful head of Billabong USA for approximately 13 years, Bob Hurley created the young person's lifestyle clothing brand Hurley International.

Expressive Surf Wear

Hurley was launched with heavy emphasis on the surf lifestyle, skateboarding, fashion, music, art, and generally just having a good time. Hurley gave its designers the freedom to indulge their ideas, and listened to the consumers that bought Hurley clothing. Giving its predominantly surf and youth customer base a chance to take Hurley International where they wanted it to go, and a platform to express themselves.

Full Product Range

The Hurley look and ethos is highly successful in the USA and expansion to the surf clothing and youth fashion markets of Australia, Japan and Europe has followed. With Hurley thriving, they have provided a clothing range for men and women with surf and fashion influences that features; T-Shirts, walkshorts, boardshorts, shirts, hoodies, jackets and jumpers, and also a Hurley accessories range (backpacks, bags, belts, caps etc) and surf wear such as zippless wetsuits and rashvests.

Hurley & Nike Partnership

Through Hurley's close relationship with sports wear giant Nike they have been able to feed into the Nike Research and Development department and create revolutionary surfing products such as the Phantom Fabric. An amazingly super-stretch, ultra lightweight, quick drying material was used to produce Hurley's top of the range boardshorts such as the Advantage and Black32.

Pro Surfer Hurley Sponsors

Hurley sponsors a host of extreme sports athletes including surfers, from WCT to grommets, currently including; soul surfer Rob Machado, WCT surfer Adrian Buchan, Timmy Curren, Brett Simpson, and Joel Centeio. They also sponsor surf, fashion and music events such as; the WCT Boost Mobile Pro of Surf in San Clemente in California, the Hurley Rip My Shred Stick Summer Tour, The Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour, and the Hurley Walk the Walk fashion show.
